Have Your Voice Heard

Dr. Debra Berry Malmberg, a Professor of Psychology at CSUN, is currently conducting a 20 minute survey to collect information from families of children diagnosed with autism. The goal of this study is to investigate a relationship between sociodemographic characteristics with the diagnosis of autism, timing of diagnosis, and types of treatments used. This study will also aim to determine a relationship between these factors and number of service hours allotted by California Regional Centers to the child and referral patterns for families. This study is designed to gather information that will better inform the community of the importance of providing mental health services equally to all people, as well as promoting awareness to families. Tools for the Journey conference

Club Twentyone presents its annual “Tools for the Journey” conference on Saturday, January 29 in Pasadena. This year’s theme is From Disability to Possibility: Supporting the learning, social, and behavioral needs of all learners. The keynote speaker is Patrick Schwarz from National-Louis University in Chicago. Mr. Schwarz is a dynamic and engaging professor, author, motivational speaker, and leader in Education and Human Services. He is a professor at National-Louis University, Chicago. All registration forms will include a place for people to write their one concern or question in each of the three areas – learning, social, and behavior. At the end of the day, the goal is to have each parent/teacher take home an action plan for their child.

Vendor Registration Now Open!

Vendor registration for the Autism Resource Fair at our Autism Awareness Walk is now open! A limited number of vendor tables will be available at this event on Saturday, April 2 at JetHawk Stadium in Lancaster. We expect a crowd of over 1,000 attendees.
